Welcome to Il Giardino del Bagatto, a charming culinary gem nestled in the heart of Borgo A Buggiano, Italy. Located at Corso Indipendenza, 144, this small but inviting restaurant has rapidly risen to acclaim for its exceptional dining offerings and delightful ambiance. It's a place where traditional Italian cuisine is elevated by thoughtful presentation and innovative flavor combinations.
Many guests have shared their enthusiasm for the dining experience at Il Giardino del Bagatto. Ruby Kane describes her visit as a “fabulous experience,” highlighting the first-class service and the exceptional food that left her with memories to cherish. It’s a sentiment echoed by many who have dined here, noting that no trip to Italy is complete without a meal at this cozy establishment.
The menu is a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary dishes, crafted with care by the talented Chef Alessandro. Guest Patrizia Rossa raves about the perfectly fried n’Duja meatballs, while also praising the inventive twists like the pappardella stuffed with robiola and nettles served with a unique honey sauce. This careful attention to detail is apparent in every plate, where classic Italian flavors are lovingly reinterpreted.
For those seeking plant-based options, paola ragazzini commended the restaurant’s vegan dishes, particularly the mixed vegan cheese assiette. In a space often dominated by traditional meat-centric menus, it’s refreshing to see such dedication to inclusivity without compromising on taste. The cozy atmosphere, enhanced by a charming fusion of rustic and modern decor, makes every visit not just a meal, but a memorable experience.
Moreover, the wine selection is thoughtfully curated, complementing the diverse offerings on the menu. As Louise Howard discovered, every sip pairs beautifully with the rich flavors of the dishes. From the comforting polenta to the exquisite tortelloni, each bite is evidently crafted with passion and skill.
In summary, Il Giardino del Bagatto is not just a restaurant; it's a celebration of Italian gastronomy infused with creativity. It’s where locals and travelers alike find joy in every dish, and where you’re bound to leave with not just a full stomach, but a full heart. Do not miss this amazing destination while in Borgo a Buggiano—it promises to be a highlight of your culinary journey in Italy.

A very pleasant experience. Food is delicious and vegan options are top notch for a non vegan restaurant. The owner is such a kind host! Do not miss the mixed vegan cheese assiette! The restaurant is small and cozy with a nice mix and match between country and modern design

Nice cozy restaurant, very friendly staff and amazing food. Especially because we are vegan and it is not that easy to find good vegan food. If you go there try out the vegan starter - 5/5. Plus: good wine card!

Chef Alessandro has done a superb job of providing a local menu with a twist on Italian food which works! From the white table cloths, the amuse bouche and all the way through the menu - such amazing flavours that are simply perfection. We had the polenta to start, tortelloni and sides of roast potatoes and local porcini mushrooms. Every dish was brilliant including the wine list! Highly recommend when visiting Borgo a Buggiano.
